Subject: AS 2007/2008, a proposal for a revision of the path part of the Institute Rules and the Rules of discipline.
A. Abstract
During this year the School Council just renewed noted the need to revise the Rules of Procedure, in order to adapt to the needs of an educational community changed profoundly - in the composition, in needs, in the reports.
An audit, following the operational guidelines set by the Council of the institute, has arranged with the help of an internal committee made up of two teachers, two parents and a school employee a draft amendment which is the basis for a discussion and a Work is expected to involve the whole school. The Commission has worked
guided by the idea underlying the Regulations of the Institute and particular rules of discipline are not a dry list of requirements and prohibitions, but a moment of harmonization of needs and just demands they bring all parts of the school.
In a community as complex and intricate that school, in which daily confront - and sometimes collide - the needs and lifestyles, it was considered useful to create and provide a concrete example of participatory democracy, to denote the possibility that a community has to define the rules that she herself is called to respect and enforce.
B. The sense and the stages of a process of participatory democracy
The Ministerial Directive on democratic citizenship and the law (October 16, 2006) wrote that "If the law is the value of the rule, an instrument of freedom, choice, participation, trust in institutions and therefore also in the school, implementation of the general that it can not be based on knowledge, knowledge, good culture. To live the law school, more competition is needed elements: the sharing of rules, participation in choices and decisions, the sharing of knowledge and way to go and what instruments to use in order to be truly free, but also know how discuss, how to assess and evaluate, how to deal with the opinions of others, knowing open to dialogue and the relationship in a cross-cultural logic. "
The same logic is confirmed by the Guidelines on peace and human rights signed in Assisi 4 October 2007.
full regard to the prerogatives of the Council of the Institute, which has the final decision on the Regulation of organization, it is considered necessary to start undertaking a full consultation on the draft regulation developed by the commission charged by the Board.
In particular the discussion and proposals should address the "Rules of Discipline" that allows you to settle conflicts and difficult situations that may occur within the school community using shared rules within the framework of democracy and respect for human rights through constructive engagement to resolve conflicts non-violent manner
The stages of the consultation can be summarized thus:
